Festival florals...

Wow, what a marvellous weekend! Last weekend the Native Meadows team headed to the Yorkshire Dales for the King of the Mountains festival and a prime location to watch Le Tour zoom by. The idyllic villages that lined our journey to the festival embraced the Tour de France event wholeheartedly, adorning their streets with bunting, flags, yellow bikes and polka dot sheep! The festival site was a beautiful spot at the foot of Buttertubs Pass. The atmosphere at the festival was incredible, with people of all ages enjoying the wonderful music and looking forward to cheering on the cyclists. Congratulations to the festival team for putting on a great event!

We had an extremely busy weekend, fashioning made to order floral crowns for festival goers, each choosing their favourite combination of flowers and colours.  We met so many lovely people and thoroughly enjoyed adding a little something special to their festival experience. Thank you to everyone that stopped by for a floral crown, you all looked beautiful!

Above are just a few examples of some of the crowns we made. For more pictures of our gorgeous customers please visit the Native MeadowsFacebook page (images will be posted soon).
This post would not be complete without a massive thank you to my wonderful cousin and friend, Claire, who was amazing and helped me every step of the way. A big thank you also goes to the Duo team (Emily and Paul) for my lovely branding, business cards and banner.

The beautiful wedding of James and Emily...

This winter wedding with a Mexican twist took place at Middleton Lodge in February 2014. 'Jimily’ (Jim and Emily) celebrated their wedding day with love, lots of laughs, a whole lot of partying and joyful tears (mostly mine).

The bride and I poured over inspiration on websites such as Pinterest and were drawn to coral and pink tones with tropical details. I used ornithogalum and protea flowers to accentuate the luxurious tropical style we sought. The tropical theme was a perfect fit for the lovely couple’s honeymoon destination and the bride’s love of Mexican design.

I used a softer colour pallet for the bridesmaid’s bouquets to offset their gorgeous coral dresses and to contrast with the bride’s vibrant bouquet.  The bride wore a beautiful floral crown made with fresh flowers, which accented her lace dress to perfection.  Button holes and corsages for the bride and groom’s mothers incorporated the tropical styling in hues of white, vibrant pink and coral. Table flowers came in the form of vintage jars and vases brimming with peonies, ranunculus and wax flowers.

I also collaborated with the bride to style the wedding of their dreams; helping to design, source and make many of the wonderful details that brought their wedding fiesta to Middleton Lodge.

The wonderful wedding of Luke and Maddy...

The beautiful wedding of this gorgeous pair took place in May 2013, surrounded by loved ones and sweet details. The day oozed style, although the bride confesses that it came together organically by choosing items that they loved, rather than having a particular style or theme in mind. This was also true when it came to the flowers; the bride selected a range of some of her favourite flowers, which came together to form beautiful creations in hues of purple and white. The flowers evoke memories of wild flower meadows (a style dear to my heart). It was great to see all the details come together on the big day, with the flowers complimenting the bride’s stunning dress perfectly.

I created bouquets for the bride and chief bridesmaid, corsages for the bridesmaids, button holes for the groom, groomsmen and fathers. I also worked closely with the bride to design and make her dream floral headdress for the occasion.
